Printmaking Party

01/27/2022 - 01/17/2024

Description

Printing is a great way to get together with friends and share an art project! Learn how to do relief printmaking while collaborating with your friends to create a shared art experience as well as a shared work of art! Choose to create a poster that the group designs together, or request a prompt from our printmaking instructor such as Victorian inspired nature prints or medieval inspired mythological creatures. You can even come up with your own themes or ideas to create a perfect experience for your group.

Each print will be created through a relief print carved linoleum process. Participants will carve their design into a linoleum block. When ink is rolled onto the surface of the block it remains on the uncarved surfaces. When it is pressed onto paper it stamps the image onto the paper. It is easy to create duplicates and combine images to have a truly collaborative art experience.

This 2 hour class experience comes with two kits, each additional Participant will need to purchase a supply kit for $10 through our Shopify. We can accommodate up to 10 total participants for this experience. This is an experience that is great for adults and highschoolers.

Please contact us at contact@frederickbookarts.org if you would like more information on how this program can be altered to fit the goals for your group's experience.

Please note the initial sign up EVENT REGISTRATION form will ask for the number of attendees, please choose ONE and let us know the number of participants in the emailed google form. Unfortunately our current system does not support purchasing a group event easily.

If you have any questions or would like to reach out to discuss or confirm a date before signing up for the experience please contact us at: contact@frederickbookarts.org. Once you purchase this experience you will receive an email with a link to a form to tell us a little more about your group and we will contact you to schedule a time that works well with the teacher, FBAC, and your group. We do require at least one adult chaperone be present during programs of underaged children, and two present if there are more than 8 children present.
