Painted and Sewn Handmade Books

10/16/2023 06:30 PM - 08:30 PM ET

Description

Make 2 sewn books! Combine free form painting, folded pages and pamphlet stitches to make your unique books. There is even a clever slot-and-tab closure.

Create two sewn books in this workshop and use any additional paper as handy bookmarks. We'll use watercolors to paint our own covers in a free-form way, fold inside text pages, and learn the pamphlet stitch. Become familiar with a few basic bookbinding terms and techniques—useful for future applications. Option to make a clever slot-and-tab closure on one of the book structures. These unique art books make great keepsakes and gifts!

If you or someone you know would like to participate in a class but do not have the funding please reach out to contact@frederickbookarts.org and we will do what we can so no one has to miss out on the experiences we offer.
