Behind the Screens: UpCycle Silkscreen Printing - Vintage Halloween Theme

10/08/2023 10:00 AM - 02:00 PM ET

Description

Join us for this class to learn screen printing start to finish. Experience what it takes to set up the prints and designs for a screen print run. You will learn how to print a positive, burn a screen, set up and screen print on garments and fabric you bring from your stash. We will be printing vintage halloween themed images!

Class participants will print during the class but can also bring extra garments and fabric and stick around to print more during our Upcycle Sunday printing event immediately following the class. Ages 18 and up, 13-17 with adult supervision.

Please note that this class takes place at our Grasshopper Print Shop, located at 410 North Market St. Ste. E, which is located behind Joy Convience Store. From the corners of 4th and N. Market St. you will see signage directing you to the Print Shop.

Supplies needed by participants:

Bring clean fabric and clothing that is made of natural fibers such as cotton for printing - polyfibers don’t tend to print as well and have issues with the heat needed for setting.

Please wear clothes that you don't mind getting a little inky!

October 8th - Sunday 10am-2pm with half hour for lunch

Instructed by Adrien Dawson

$75/per person

NOTE:

We set our pricing to pay our instructors a fair wage and cover materials, but one of FBAC’s goals is to give access to the experience of all things bookbinding and printing to anyone who is interested. If you or someone you know would like to participate in a class but do not have the funding please reach out to contact@frederickbookarts.org and we will do what we can so no one has to miss out on the experiences we offer.
