Printing is a great way to get together with friends and share an art project! Learn how to do relief printmaking while collaborating with your friends to create a shared art experience as well as a shared work of art!

Each printer will be created through a relief print carved linoleum process. Participants will carve designs into an easy-carve rubber block or linoleum block to learn the fundamentals of printmaking.

Once carved, ink is rolled onto the surface of the carved block - the ink remains on the uncarved surfaces. When it is pressed onto paper it stamps the image onto the paper. It is easy to create duplicates and combine images to have a truly collaborative art experience.

This 3 hour class experience comes with all the supplies you need to get started and even exchange prints with friends at the end of the party.

We suggest connecting with us at contact@frederickbookarts.org before signing up to make sure a teacher and the space is available.

Activities can be modified for groups that may not want to do carving.

Additional time can be added before or after the group activity for food for an additional fee.

Contact us at contact@frederickbookarts.org if you would like more information on how this program can be altered to fit the goals for your group's experience.

We do require at least one adult chaperone to be present if there are students that are 17 or younger, and two chaperones must be present if there are more than 8 students under 18 years of age.
