Sliceforms are dimensional structures defined by rows of intersecting planes. In paper engineering, this approach can be beautifully detailed and sculptural; and with their myriad non-adhesive joins, the forms move effortlessly. Join master paper engineer Shawn Sheehy in discussing, building and binding a dozen pop-up models that demonstrate application of technique to both simple geometric solids and complex organic forms. All you’ll need is a simple set of hand tools, a kit of pre-cut paper pieces (provided) and your curiosity! All levels are welcome.

NOTE:

We set our pricing to pay our instructors a fair wage and cover materials, but one of FBAC’s goals is to give access to the experience of all things bookbinding and printing to anyone who is interested. If you or someone you know would like to participate in a class but do not have the funding please reach out to contact@frederickbookarts.org and we will do what we can so no one has to miss out on the experiences we offer.
