Instructor: Alex Garcia
In-Studio Class
Mushrooms come in so many interesting shapes - decorating using a garland of mushroom shapes can add flair to a fairy themed function, a summer pond picnic, or just add joy to a boring doorway. Join us to create your own unique mushroom garland using hand carved Lino techniques.
This class is suitable for beginners or printmakers with more experience, if you have taken a previous beginner Lino printmaking class with FBAC this class is a good skill builder. Create a unique mushroom garland using hand carved lino techniques.
We will review linoleum carving tools, materials, and practices. Students will create their own design, transfer it to linoleum, and then begin the carving process. Students will choose their ink colors and create multiple prints of their carving before cutting them out and assembling them into their garland.
NOTE:
We set our pricing to pay our instructors a fair wage and cover materials, but one of FBAC’s goals is to give access to the experience of all things bookbinding and printing to anyone who is interested. If you or someone you know would like to participate in a class but do not have the funding please reach out to contact@frederickbookarts.org and we will do what we can so no one has to miss out on the experiences we offer.
