In-studio class adults, teens are welcome in this class with adult assistance; please email us to let us know to expect any student under 18yrs.
Stab-bound books offer a method to bind single pages together, as opposed to folded signatures. Students will create three booklets with different stitch variations. They will fold, glue, punch holes, stitch, and embellish as they follow a set of written directions and learn how to adapt a template for creating variations and alternate sizes. Three booklets with different sizes. varied text blocks, and varied stitch patterns will allow for student choice while still working with traditional stab-bound techniques. A number of examples will be shared with the class.
NOTE:
We set our pricing to pay our instructors a fair wage and cover materials, but one of FBAC’s goals is to give access to the experience of all things bookbinding and printing to anyone who is interested. If you or someone you know would like to participate in a class but do not have the funding please reach out to contact@frederickbookarts.org and we will do what we can so no one has to miss out on the experiences we offer.
