In-Studio Class for ages 8-11 (3rd-5th grade)

Get ready to have the coolest loot bag on the block this Halloween. This class is your opportunity to create a themed bag for your costume, design the bag of your dreams, or even bring your bestie and make matching bags.

Explore the world of printing with stencils. Learn how to create your own custom designs with your favorite character, an adorable animal, or theme. As part of the class you will learn how to stencil print at home. No piece of clothing or accessory will be in danger of being called boring again!

Please bring ideas.

Students will each receive 1 loot bag for printing. Each bag is 100% cotton, measures 16" x 17" w/o handles, and folds into a 4.5" x 4.5" pouch. This amazing bag is reusable, storable, and awesomely printable! Finally a Halloween bag you can use year round.

Please Note:

-This class is a parent assisted class, so please be prepared to stay.  <

-Please bring stencil ideas to class.  Work area is 6" x 10" or smaller.

-The image is an outline only, not interior details.

-Students will be using sharp scissors and hot irons.

About the instructor: Marcey Jastrab

Marcey Jastrab combines a love of the natural world with crafting traditions of old to create unique, handmade items. She can be found making brooms, blacksmithing, gardening, or lino printing.

Marcey has also been a lifelong teacher. She started by teaching her little sister how to read on a chalkboard.  From there she taught college volunteers on archaeological digs, bio/chem/physics in public high school, STEM classes at the public library, and now medical research at a medical school in Maryland. Combining professional teaching with her practice of the old traditions, Marcey loves sharing the creative joy in making things by hand.

We set our pricing to pay our instructors a fair wage and cover materials, but one of FBAC’s goals is to give access to the experience of all things bookbinding and printing to anyone who is interested.
