Stab Binding I

04/12/2021 06:00 PM - 04/13/2021 08:00 PM ET

Description

Stab-Binding is a beautiful and simple way to learn bookbinding. This will be a wonderful class for anyone who wants to bind their first book, or for an experienced binder who is new to stab binding techniques.

Students will learn the technique for two traditional stitches, including the 4-hole/eye binding (Yotsumi Toji) and Noble Binding (Koki Toji). We will also cover a few basic embellishments and alternatives ideas to give you ideas for personalizing and creating unique looks.

Unlike many binding styles, stab binding allows individual (not folded) paper to be used as the book. We will be covering two of the easier tradional styles. This class will teach you all you need to know to join us for our more complex patterns in Stab Binding II. Ages 13 and up.
