Mushroom Themed Printmaking

Saturday, June 21st from 10 am - 2 pm (with half hour break)

$75

Instructor: Alex Garcia

In-Studio Class

Students can learn and experiment with the basics of lino cut relief printmaking through the fantastic world of mushrooms! This class is good for beginners or more experienced students. Participants can work at their own skill level, using mushrooms as a subject allows each student to make their design as complicated or simple as they want it to be.

Students will be given a 5x7 piece of lino to design their mushroom print.

The first part of the class will be for drafting ideas and creating a sketch. After students have created sketches of their mushrooms they'll learn how to transfer and carve their own lino block. Once their block is carved they can each hand print their own unique mushrooms with their ink color of choice.

NOTE:

We set our pricing to pay our instructors a fair wage and cover materials, but one of FBAC’s goals is to give access to the experience of all things bookbinding and printing to anyone who is interested. If you or someone you know would like to participate in a class but do not have the funding please reach out to contact@frederickbookarts.org and we will do what we can so no one has to miss out on the experiences we offer.
