Adults and teens welcome - please contact us when registering students under 18
Gelli-plate printing is a delightful and playful way to create monoprints which can be paired with other forms of collage and art techniques to form beautiful expressive art.
Join Judith Kornett as she demonstrates and creates an environment to explore the techniques inherent to gelli-plate printing. Students will get a chance to explore several techniques and create around a dozen designs to use on their final project.
Judith takes the class to a level beyond basic monoprinting by demonstrating how to create compositions with your monoprints - turning them into even more unique forms of art. She will walk students through all the stages to create a unique combination of printing and collage - from planning, to drawing, to creating a stencil, and finally cutting and arranging your own piece by pasting and using colored paper “glass” pieces.
Learn lots of skills and be prepared to have fun on this art adventure.
No experience necessarily and beginners are welcome. This is a great class for adults and teens. Please send us an email at contact@frederickbookarts.org if someone under 18 will be attending.
NOTE:
We set our pricing to pay our instructors a fair wage and cover materials, but one of FBAC’s goals is to give access to the experience of all things bookbinding and printing to anyone who is interested. If you or someone you know would like to participate in a class but do not have the funding please reach out to contact@frederickbookarts.org and we will do what we can so no one has to miss out on the experiences we offer.
