Paper cutting is the art of creating patterns, designs and pictures using simple tools such as scissors and x-acto knives. Examples of this art have been found as early as the 4th century. Traditionally paper cutting employed only one color, but has developed into a beautiful multi-colored decorative and illustrative art form. In this class students will learn to design and create a beautiful, finished work of art. The teacher will introduce and demonstrate the steps to planning the project, techniques of cutting and layering different colors, and several ways to add embellishments

NOTE:

We set our pricing to pay our instructors a fair wage and cover materials, but one of FBAC’s goals is to give access to the experience of all things bookbinding and printing to anyone who is interested. If you or someone you know would like to participate in a class but do not have the funding please reach out to contact@frederickbookarts.org and we will do what we can so no one has to miss out on the experiences we offer.
